Napoleon House Wedding Photography

Weddings at the Napoleon House offer a relaxed, atmospheric take on a French Quarter celebration. Set within a centuries-old building, it’s full of warm, timeworn character, think dim lighting, exposed brick, and a lived-in elegance that feels effortlessly New Orleans.

Ideal for smaller weddings or rehearsal dinners, it’s a venue that leans into intimacy, great food, and a laid-back, social vibe rather than formal tradition.

Napoleon House is a great venue for receptions or smaller, more intimate ceremonies. There are a lot of different rooms that can be used in different ways—ceremony in the courtyard, reception upstairs, or even hosting everything inside. It’s a really versatile space, and one I enjoy working in as a New Orleans wedding photographer.

It’s also a solid option for summer weddings in New Orleans when you want to stay indoors and out of the heat. The balcony gives guests a place to step out and hang, and it doubles as a great spot for a quick portrait—something I always keep in mind when approaching New Orleans wedding photography in tighter spaces.

One of the more unique features—if you ask—is access up through the attic to a small perch with views over the French Quarter. It’s a great little hidden spot for portraits and a favorite for couples who want something a bit different in their wedding gallery.

Being right in the heart of the Quarter makes everything easy. Second lines can roll right out into the street, and there are plenty of great portrait locations nearby—Exchange Place being one of my go-to spots as a wedding photographer in New Orleans.

A lot of couples also pair it with the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum next door, using one for the ceremony and the other for the reception. It’s a setup that works really well for New Orleans weddings and gives you a lot of variety without needing to travel far.

Matt-

Traven photographed our wedding in New Orleans in November 2023. His photos are phenomenal! He did a great job capturing many different types of moments, and his use of light under the trees in the park was amazing. He also blends in so well that he might just be a ninja. Hire him, you won't regret it!
