Hotel Peter and Paul is one of the most unique wedding venues in the city. It’s a restored church, convent, and schoolhouse, all brought back to life with so much character. Tall ceilings, soft natural light, rich textures everywhere. It’s the kind of place that makes New Orleans wedding photography feel effortless. Every corner has something going on.
For New Orleans weddings, it really checks all the boxes. You get history, atmosphere, and multiple spaces that all photograph differently. As a New Orleans wedding photographer, it’s one of those venues I get excited about every time because it naturally lends itself to storytelling.
This couple kept things simple in the best way.
They didn’t want getting ready photos or a long, packed timeline. They wanted the focus on the ceremony and the time spent with their people after. So I came in ready to shoot it in a more photojournalistic way. A lot of candids. A lot of real moments.
The ceremony was intimate and full of emotion. Close friends and family, everyone locked in and present. Those are always my favorite ceremonies to photograph—nothing forced, just people showing up for each other.
Afterwards, the reception picked up quickly. The energy shifted in that way it always does at New Orleans weddings. Drinks in hand, music going, people laughing and moving. It didn’t take long before the dance floor filled up.
The cake was from Nolita, and it was incredible. They’re known around the city for their clean, modern designs and flavors that actually live up to the look. Definitely a favorite for wedding cakes in New Orleans.
Everything was brought together by Uncommon Camellia. They kept the day flowing smoothly while still letting it feel relaxed and natural. That balance is huge, and they nailed it.
