This Mobile, Alabama wedding was such a memorable experience for me, as it was my first time photographing in this charming city. The vibe was relaxed, and the bride and groom were incredibly laid back, which made the day a joy to capture. We started at the historic Battle House Hotel with a first look, which was one of the most exciting moments of the day. The bride had requested no prep shots, so we jumped right into portraits after the first look. The couple’s ease and joy made for some beautiful, natural shots. Following the portraits, we got all the family photos done, which allowed us to focus on the rest of the day without any rush.
The ceremony took place at a traditional Catholic church. Before the ceremony started, I was able to take a few portraits of the bride as she waited. The off camera light that I had my assistant holding in the room gave these shots a timeless and serene quality, which made for some of my favorite images of the day. After the ceremony, we headed over to the Ezell House for the reception, where I snuck the couple into the library for a few more intimate portraits before dinner.
The reception itself was a party from start to finish. After their first dance and cake cutting, the bride surprised everyone by jumping up on stage with the band to sing a few songs, showcasing her fun personality. The night ended with a sparkler exit, which was a beautiful way to close out a day filled with love, laughter, and celebration.
It was such a fun, energetic day, and I’m excited to add this wedding to my portfolio!
